Summer 2013


Olivia Booth

Olivia is a rising senior at the Catholic University of America majoring in Environmental Chemistry. She is extremely interested in environmental issues and making a positive impact on the current environmental situation. Olivia is currently (as of Summer 2013) the President of the Green Club and played a large role in starting the first Catholic University community garden last year. She is also an active member of the Martin Maloney Chemistry Society and the Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity. She is very excited to be at Green Seal and to continue to pursue her interest in environmental issues. After school, she plans to pursue a Masters in Public Health and possibly join the Peace Corps.

Sarah Freedman

Sarah recently graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.S. in Marketing and International Business. During her time at school, Sarah interned at other sustainability-focused organizations and was involved in a student organization called Terps for Change, through which she aided in preserving a nature trail near campus. Sarah is looking forward to expanding her knowledge of sustainability initiatives and hopes to pursue a future career through which she can make a difference in the world.

Ann Green

During four years as a student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Ann's involvement in environmental advocacy organizations introduced her to the world of environmental activism.  As a regular volunteer and intern for organizations such as the Sierra Student Coalition and Farmer Foodshare, she worked both independently and with others to promote positive change and awareness of environmental issues in her community.  Also, as a major in International Studies with a focus in international politics, she gained a thorough understanding of the global political, economic, and social issues that impact the environment and environmental policy in modern society.  Ann is excited to hone her communication and administrative skills as an intern for Green Seal.

Jake Anderson

Jake is an undergraduate student at the University of California, Irvine studying Environmental Science and Global Sustainability. One of Jake's career interests is environmental consulting - he believes that educating companies about long-term goals for sustainable business practices and empowering those with the purchasing power to make decisions in the best interest of future generations is crucial. In addition to his educational interests in the environmental field, he has taken an active role in participating in environmental related service projects focused on habitat restoration and removal of invasive species. He is very grateful to have seized many opportunities to become involved and take on leadership roles in the Earth System Science Club, my campus’ chapter of Habitat for Humanity, and Phi Delta Theta Fraternity throughout his past three years at UCI.

Wei Xin

Wei graduated in May 2013 from Smith College, where she majored in Biology and minored in Environmental Science and Policy. At Smith, she focused on environmental science research, including marine ecology and plant evolution, and was active in student-organized environmental activism. She believes that green business is the key to sustainable development. In the future, she plans to pursue graduate training in corporate sustainability and work in environmental NGOs, think-tanks, or consulting companies. She also plans to return to China to work on China’s environmental issues.

Jen Crino

Jen will be a senior next year at Boston College. She is studying International Studies with a concentration in Ethics and Social Justice, and also will be completing a minor in Environmental Studies. This past spring semester, Jen studied at a Spanish university while abroad in Madrid. Last summer she was an intern at the Environmental Protection Agency in Philadelphia, where she was started to learn more about the idea of labeling environmentally conscious products, which eventually led her to Green Seal. Jen was very excited to work as an intern for Green Seal. She hopes to pursue a career in environmental law.


Rivka Gross

Riki just finished her first year at Brandeis University, studying Politics and International and Global Studies, with a minor in Art History. At school, she is an executive board member of Poverty Action Coalition, a Concert Coordinator for Student Events, an active member of Students for Environmental Action, and will be an Orientation Leader in the Fall ’13 Semester.

Spring 2013

Kristin McGinnis-Salazar

Kristin completed a B.S. in Restaurant & Resort Management from Colorado State University in 2004, then completed an MBA with a concentration in Organic Resources from Marylhurst University.  She is currently working with an estate planning firm – Architects of Wealth Preservation Strategies. She looks forward to a future career as a director of sustainable product purchasing and sustainability consulting.

Kelsey Pauxtis-Thomas

Kelsey has a B.S. in Agricultural Business Management from Oregon State University, and recently received an MBA with a concentration in Government and Policy from Marylhurst University. She is looking forward to a career as an environmental protection specialist in order to implement cost benefit analyses, and reduce negative environmental impacts of community projects.

 

Linh Tran

Linh Tran (pronounced like Lynn) graduated in December 2012 from Thunderbird School of Global Management in Phoenix, Arizona with a M.S. in Global Management. Before coming to the US for her master’s degree, she worked for a financial news channel in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam. She looks forward to a position in marketing communication, or digital marketing, and greatly enjoys acting as a bridge between a company and consumers.

   

Steven Vinson

As a Green Seal Intern, Stephen Vinson finished up his senior year at Texas A&M and will graduate with a B.A. in History. He was working with Expose Your Biz Online as a content coordinator, and was searching for a position as an online marketing manager. At Green Seal, Stephen focused on the green building industry.


Anne Milewski

While at Green Seal, Annie was a junior at The George Washington University majoring in Environmental Studies with a minor in Sustainability. Before joining Green Seal she spent five months living in Copenhagen, Denmark studying sustainable architecture and design strategies and she continued to build upon this interest during her work as a GS intern. She looks forward to a future career in LEED certification or sustainability consulting in Washington, DC.

 

Laura Burt

During her time with Green Seal, Laura was an undergraduate at Guilford College studying art with a concentration in photography. With substantial experience in both film and digital photography, she has developed courses in studio lighting and website design, and hopes to venture to South Africa to photograph wildlife. She supported Green Seal in graphic design and marketing research. 

Fall 2012

 

Camilla Cooper

During her time as Marketing Intern, Camilla was a senior at the University of New Hampshire, earning double bachelor degrees in Communication and Political Science. As an intern, Camilla worked on numerous research projects and assisted with video creation. She hopes to launch an advertising career that will allow her to express her creativity and people skills on a daily basis. Camilla was a Marketing Intern for the Fall '12 semester.

 

Lukas Lemes Silva

Lukas was a third-year undergraduate at the Universidade Mackenzie in São Paulo, Brazil when he joined Green Seal for the Fall 2012 semester as a Marketing Intern. Lukas supported the graphic design and video editing projects. Prior to his time at Green Seal, Lukas was a Marketing Assistant for the Hongkong Trade Development Council.
