Created a certification program for hotels
Green Seal provided a list of environmentally responsible lodging properties to help travelers, meeting planners, and government and corporate travel buyers. As part of this program, Green Seal worked with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to certify hotels in seven major travel areas of the state for use by government employees and the traveling public. We also conducted a similar project with the State of Georgia and with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in the District of Columbia for use by DC and Federal visitors and employees on travel. Helped develop a State's green lodging program
Green Seal worked with the State of California to develop the technical basis for its green lodging program, which it will use for employee meetings and travel and for the general public.

Initiated a marketing and publicity program for green hotels
Green Seal worked on a project with the Commonwealth of Virginia to identify, audit, and publicize leading green hotels in the state. Green Seal is following up this earlier project with audits to certify at least ten properties in the program.

Conducted field studies on sustainable products and operations
Green Seal conducted field studies on sustainable products and operations with several Marriott Hotels in Washington, D.C., and the Saunders Hotel Group in Boston.
